“Nếu tất cả những người không bao giờ trở về nhà đều hóa thành cá, liệu biển cả có thể cưu mang hết họ?” Một bộ phim chính kịch khắc họa nỗi mong ngóng khôn nguôi của những ngư dân Dhanushkodi ra khơi giữa biển rộng mênh mông, trong khi những người thân yêu của họ ở lại trên bờ, khắc khoải đợi chờ họ bình an trở về.
“If everyone who never returned home became a fish, could the sea bear them all?” A drama that carries the deep longing of Dhanushkodi’s fishermen, who venture into the vast sea while their beloved ones wait on the shore, longing for their safe return.

Shanmuganathan Sivanesan là nhà làm phim độc lập và nhà văn đến từ Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, Ấn Độ. Xuất thân là kỹ sư, anh theo đuổi phong cách hiện thực giàu chất thơ, tập trung vào đời sống và những cảm xúc thầm kín của con người. Phim ngắn Black Forest của anh giành giải Phim ngắn Ấn Độ xuất sắc nhất tại Indian Independent Film Festival 2025. Tác phẩm Holding Umbrella for God, khai thác cuộc sống của ngư dân Dhanushkodi và nỗi mong chờ của người thân, được tuyển chọn tranh giải phim ngắn tại Liên hoan Phim quốc tế Hà Nội lần thứ VIII (2026), đồng thời là buổi công chiếu quốc tế đầu tiên của phim.
Shanmuganathan Sivanesan is an independent filmmaker and writer from Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India. An engineer by profession, he embraces poetic realism and explores everyday lives and unspoken human emotions. His short film Black Forest won Best Indian Short Film at the Indian Independent Film Festival 2025. Holding Umbrella for God, portraying the lives of Dhanushkodi fishermen and the longing of those waiting for them, was selected for the short-film competition at the 8th Hanoi International Film Festival (2026), marking its international premiere.
