TÓM TẮT/SYNOPSIS:
Tại một thị trấn hẻo lánh trên dãy Himalaya trong thời kỳ chiến tranh Kargil, Barkha, một giáo viên có chồng đang phục vụ nơi biên giới, sống giữa cộng đồng những người phụ nữ mỏi mòn chờ đợi. Sự xuất hiện của Manik Guho, một người đàn ông bí ẩn, khơi dậy những khát khao bị kìm nén và làm xáo trộn nhịp sống nơi đây. Cùng lúc, truyền thuyết về con rắn sống dưới dòng sông cấm, chờ đợi suốt nghìn năm vì một lời hẹn tình yêu chưa thành, dần trở nên sống động. Bộ phim đan xen ký ức, huyền thoại và những rung động sâu kín để khám phá khát vọng tự do, tình yêu và sự biến đổi.
Set in a remote Himalayan town during the Kargil War, the film follows Barkha, a schoolteacher whose husband is away at the border. As the women of the village wait in silence, a mysterious outsider, Manik Guho, awakens long-suppressed desires. His arrival revives a local legend of a serpent dwelling in a forbidden river, waiting for a thousand years for an unfulfilled promise of love. Blending myth, memory and longing, the film explores desire, freedom and transformation.

Nidhi Saxena là nhà biên kịch, đạo diễn Ấn Độ, có nền tảng về hội họa, điêu khắc và văn học. Bà được đào tạo về điện ảnh và sáng tác các tác phẩm giàu chất thơ, quan tâm đến đời sống nội tâm, ký ức cộng đồng và thân phận phụ nữ. Phim truyện đầu tay Sad Letters of an Imaginary Woman được giới thiệu tại Liên hoan phim quốc tế Busan năm 2024. Dự án Secret of a Mountain Serpent được lựa chọn vào nhóm dự án chung kết của Biennale College Cinema 2024–2025. Bà là người sáng lập hãng Forest Flower Films.
Nidhi Saxena is an Indian writer and filmmaker with a background in painting, sculpture and literature. Her poetic cinema explores emotional interiority, community memory and women’s lives. Her debut feature, Sad Letters of an Imaginary Woman, premiered at the 2024 Busan International Film Festival. Secret of a Mountain Serpent was selected as a finalist project for Biennale College Cinema 2024–25. She is the founder of Forest Flower Films, which supports intimate, distinctive films from South Asia.
