TÓM TẮT/SYNOPSIS:
Oscar Restrepo đam mê thơ ca nhưng chưa từng đạt được thành công. Khi tuổi đã cao, cuộc sống bấp bênh và thất vọng khiến ông trở thành hình ảnh một thi sĩ bị lãng quên. Cuộc gặp với Yurlady, cô gái tuổi thiếu niên xuất thân nghèo khó, mang đến cho ông niềm hy vọng mới. Khi giúp cô phát triển khả năng sáng tác, Oscar cũng phải đối diện câu hỏi liệu việc đưa Yurlady bước vào thế giới thi ca có thực sự tốt cho cô.
Oscar Restrepo’s obsession with poetry has brought him no glory. Aging and erratic, he has succumbed to the cliché of the poet in the shadows. Meeting Yurlady, a teenage girl from humble roots, and helping her cultivate her talent brings some light to his days. But dragging her into the world of poets may not be the way.

Simón Mesa Soto là đạo diễn, biên kịch và nhà sản xuất người Colombia. Ông học ngành Truyền thông nghe nhìn tại Đại học Antioquia và lấy bằng thạc sĩ tại London Film School. Phim ngắn Leidi (2014) của ông đoạt Cành cọ vàng phim ngắn tại Cannes; Mother (2016) tiếp tục được chọn tranh giải tại Cannes. Phim truyện đầu tay Amparo (2021) ra mắt tại Tuần lễ Phê bình Cannes, sau đó giành nhiều giải thưởng quốc tế và bảy giải Macondo 2022. A Poet (2025) là phim truyện thứ hai của ông, đoạt Giải Ban giám khảo hạng mục Un Certain Regard tại Cannes.
Simón Mesa Soto is a Colombian director, screenwriter and producer. He studied Audiovisual Communication at the University of Antioquia and earned a master’s degree from the London Film School. His short Leidi (2014) won the Short Film Palme d’Or at Cannes; Mother (2016) also competed at Cannes. His debut feature Amparo (2021) premiered at Cannes Critics’ Week and later won seven Macondo Awards in 2022. A Poet (2025), his second feature, received the Jury Prize in Cannes’ Un Certain Regard section.
