TÓM TẮT/SYNOPSIS:
Nagasaki, năm 1964. Sau khi người cha thuộc giới yakuza qua đời, Kikuo được một nghệ sĩ Kabuki nổi tiếng nhận bảo trợ. Nagasaki, 1964. After the death of his yakuza father, Kikuo is taken under the wing of a renowned Kabuki actor. Alongside Shunsuke, the actor’s son, he devotes himself to Japan’s traditional theatre. Over several decades, friendship and rivalry intertwine as both men endure sacrifice and loss in their pursuit of artistic excellence and the coveted status of a national treasure.

Sang-il Lee (sinh năm 1974) là đạo diễn người Nhật Bản gốc Hàn Quốc, tốt nghiệp Japan Institute of the Moving Image. Phim tốt nghiệp CHONG (2000) giúp ông được chú ý trong giới điện ảnh. Những tác phẩm tiêu biểu của ông gồm Hula Girls (2006), Villain (2010), Unforgiven (2013), Rage (2016) và Kokuho (2025). Ông được biết đến với các tác phẩm giàu chiều sâu tâm lý, khai thác những xung đột xã hội và số phận con người.
Sang-il Lee (born in 1974) is a Japanese film director of Korean descent and a graduate of the Japan Institute of the Moving Image. His graduation film CHONG (2000) attracted critical attention. His notable features include Hula Girls (2006), Villain (2010), Unforgiven (2013), Rage (2016) and Kokuho (2025). His filmmaking often explores social tensions, psychological complexity and the lives of people facing difficult choices.
