TÓM TẮT/SYNOPSIS:
Một bi kịch đã đưa người mẹ Ella, cô con gái Melli và chàng trai trẻ Lux đến gần nhau trong nỗi đau mất Jessie, con gái của Ella và là bạn gái của Lux. A tragedy brings Ella, her younger daughter Melli, and Lux, the boyfriend of Ella’s deceased daughter Jessie, together in grief. A year after Jessie’s death, all three struggle with guilt, blame and the need for forgiveness. When Lux returns, Ella takes him and Melli to Tenerife for the family holiday that never happened. There, past and present begin to overlap, and Jessie seems to reappear as though time could turn back, forcing them to confront their loss and their impossible longing.

Sandra Wollner sinh năm 1983 tại Leoben, Áo, và học đạo diễn phim tài liệu tại Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. Phim dài đầu tay The Impossible Picture đoạt Giải thưởng Phim Đức mới và Giải của Hội Phê bình điện ảnh Đức cho phim truyện xuất sắc nhất năm 2018. Tác phẩm The Trouble with Being Born giành Giải đặc biệt của Ban Giám khảo tại Berlinale 2020, cùng giải Phim xuất sắc nhất và Đạo diễn xuất sắc nhất tại Giải thưởng Điện ảnh Áo. Bà hiện sống và làm việc tại Berlin.
Born in 1983 in Leoben, Austria, Sandra Wollner studied documentary directing at Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. Her debut feature, The Impossible Picture, received the Förderpreis Neues Deutsches Kino and the German Film Critics’ Award for Best Feature Film in 2018. Her film The Trouble with Being Born won the Special Jury Award in the Encounters section of Berlinale 2020, as well as Best Feature Film and Best Director at the Austrian Film Awards. She lives and works in Berlin.
