TÓM TẮT/SYNOPSIS:

Set over a single day in Lagos during Nigeria’s 1993 election crisis, the film follows a father who has been largely absent from his two young sons’ lives. As they travel across the sprawling city, he attempts to reconnect with the boys while political unrest threatens their journey home. Their seemingly ordinary outing becomes a formative experience revealing distance, sacrifice and affection within the family.

Akinola Davies Jr is a Nigerian filmmaker and visual artist whose work explores community, identity, memory and intergenerational relationships. His short film Lizard (2020) won the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance and received a BAFTA nomination. He participated in Berlinale Talents and was named among Screen Daily’s Stars of Tomorrow. His debut feature, My Father’s Shadow (2025), premiered at Cannes and received a Caméra d’Or Special Distinction.
