TÓM TẮT/SYNOPSIS:
Một phụ nữ trẻ đang theo học nhiếp ảnh ở nước ngoài, thường bị nhầm là con trai, trở về quê để dự đám tang cha. Trong cuộc đoàn tụ ngắn ngủi với người mẹ lâu ngày xa cách, hai người vẫn giữ khoảng cách về tình cảm. Mang theo máy ảnh đi quanh thị trấn, cô hồi tưởng tuổi thơ và tâm sự với một người bạn nước ngoài về những băn khoăn liên quan đến bản dạng giới. Giữa những lời bàn tán tại tang lễ, sự hoang mang của cô lên đến đỉnh điểm, nhưng một cử chỉ bất ngờ từ người mẹ đã tạo nên sự kết nối tình cảm giữa hai người.
A young woman studying photography abroad, often mistaken for a boy, returns home for her father’s funeral. In a brief reunion with her estranged mother, they remain emotionally distant. Roaming the town with her camera, she reflects on her childhood and discusses her gender identity struggles with a foreign friend. Amid the gossip at the funeral, her uncertainty peaks, but an unexpected gesture from her mother creates an emotional connection between them.

Kun Sun là nhà làm phim Trung Quốc. Cô tốt nghiệp thạc sĩ chuyên ngành Nhân học và Phim tài liệu tại University College London năm 2019; sau đó học làm phim tại London Film School và tốt nghiệp năm 2023. Cô từng làm đạo diễn, trợ lý đạo diễn thứ nhất và nhà sản xuất cho nhiều phim ngắn. Tác phẩm tốt nghiệp Poet giành giải Phim hay nhất Golden Kojika và giải Khán giả bình chọn tại Liên hoan phim quốc tế Nara năm 2024. The Wind in Ash (2025) được trình chiếu tại nhiều liên hoan phim quốc tế.
Kun Sun is a Chinese filmmaker. She earned a master’s degree in Anthropology and Documentary Film from University College London in 2019 and graduated with distinction from the London Film School in 2023. She has worked as a director, first assistant director and producer on short-film projects. Her graduation film Poet won the Golden Kojika Award for Best Film and the Audience Choice Award at the 2024 Nara International Film Festival. Her short The Wind in Ash (2025) has screened at international film festivals.
