Synopsis:
The film vividly portrays the life drama of a girl named Aynur from the outskirts of Almaty. Subjected to violence and having lost faith in men, she is forced to abandon her previous life and job due to harassment. Now working as a home hairdresser, she struggles to find her own independence amidst poverty and solitude.
Director’s biography:
Nariman Turebayev born 1970, is a Kazakh film director and screenwriter. Graduated from the T. Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts (Ardak Amirkulov workshop). The author of the short films “Romance” (2000) and “Antiromantics” (2001). His picture “Antiromantics”, shot with the support of Darezhan Omirbayev, was awarded by the jury of the “Young Cinema” program of the Cannes Film Festival.
