Synopsis:
Based on the book Liar by Israeli author Ayelet Gundar-Goshen, the film tells the story of Eva, a 17-year-old girl, has a boring and uninteresting life; she feels like she doesn’t exist. But everything changes when she accuses a famous singer of sexual harassment in the past and becomes a national heroine – “a girl who is not afraid to tell the truth.” The path to success is clouded only by her conscience, which forces her to admit that she lied.
Director’s biography:
Julia Trofimova is a director and screenwriter born and raised in Russia. She graduated from the New York Film Academy (Los Angeles) in 2018 with two majors in directing and screenwriting. In 2019, she continued her study at the Moscow School of New Cinema, where she was instructed by the creative director D. Mamulia. In that same year, she studied at the Cinema League, majoring in screenwriting. She is known for her creative directing style and the ability to express herself deeply through her stories.
